How Noon differs

Noon is structured for businesses, and it says so clearly.

Where Amazon.sa offers an individual route for Saudi nationals, Noon expects a registered business. Registration happens through the Seller Lab, and the platform structures onboarding as a sequence: an organisation, then a legal entity, then payments, then fulfilment.

Two things about that sequence catch sellers out.

First, your store currency is set once and cannot be changed afterwards. It is the kind of decision that feels administrative and later turns out to be structural, especially if you also sell in the UAE or Egypt through the same group.

Second, documents must be unique to the account. Noon does not allow the same trade licence or bank details across more than one Noon account, which matters the moment a business wants to open a second store for a different brand.

What causes delays

  • A trade licence that is not valid for the country you are registering the store in.
  • A VAT certificate that is missing, or no non-registration declaration where the business is below the threshold.
  • Bank details that do not match the legal entity name.
  • An IBAN submitted without the supporting bank document the platform asks for.
  • Skipping the required onboarding training, which holds up activation.

Registration flow

The Seller Lab sequence.

  1. 1

    Organisation

A Seller Lab account is created and verified by OTP on both email and mobile, then an organisation name and Project ID are assigned.

  2. 2

    Legal entity

Company details are submitted: legal name, address, trade licence and its validity dates. The licence must be from Saudi Arabia, the UAE or Egypt.

  3. 3

    Tax and compliance

VAT registration details or a non-registration declaration, depending on your status and country of operation.

  4. 4

    Payments

Bank account details including IBAN and the supporting document Noon requests. The account must be in the company name.

  5. 5

    Fulfilment and activation

Choose Noon B2B or FBN, complete the required training, and the account moves into review and activation.

Fulfilment

FBN or self-fulfilment?

This is a commercial decision, not a technical one. It affects your costs, your control over stock and how fast customers receive orders.
Noon fulfilment models
Model How it works Suited to
FBN — Fulfilled by Noon You send stock to Noon's warehouses. Noon stores, packs, ships and handles customer service for those orders, and your items become eligible for faster delivery promises. Sellers with predictable, fast-moving stock who want the delivery badge and can hold inventory in two places
Self-fulfilment (Noon B2B) You store the products and ship each order yourself within the platform's stated handling times. Sellers with variable or slow-moving ranges, large or fragile items, or existing warehouse operations
Mixed Some SKUs in FBN, others self-fulfilled, based on velocity and margin. Established sellers who want to optimise cost per product rather than per business

Choosing FBN means holding inventory in Noon's warehouse in addition to your own. That is a working-capital decision as much as a logistics one, and we will talk it through with you rather than defaulting to the option with the nicer badge.

Documents

What Noon asks for.

A valid trade licence or Commercial Registration Issued in Saudi Arabia, the UAE or Egypt. Must be current for the full review period
Passport or national or residency ID of the owner or authorised signatory Clear colour copy
VAT registration certificate Or a formal non-registration declaration if you are below the threshold
Bank account details including IBAN In the company name — third-party accounts cannot receive settlement
A bank document as requested by the platform A cancelled cheque, bank letter or statement as specified — and stamped where required
Proof of purchase or invoices for your products Requested for certain categories and for brand-related listings
Manufacturer or distributor authorisation Required where you sell branded goods as a reseller rather than the brand owner
Category-specific licensing Health, beauty, food and regulated goods need additional approvals
A business email and mobile number that receive OTP codes Verification is OTP-based on both channels
Confirmation of your store currency and country of operation Currency cannot be changed after the store is created

Keep copies of everything you submit. Noon does not return submitted documents, and having your own record makes any later query far easier to resolve.

After approval

Catalogue and content

An approved account with an empty catalogue earns nothing. Product data and structure are the first commercial job.

  • Category and attribute mapping
  • Arabic and English product titles and descriptions
  • Images to platform specification
  • Variations, bundles and pricing structure

Commercial settings

Commission structure, pricing and promotion setup agreed with what your margin can carry.

  • Category commission review
  • Pricing and promotional calendar
  • Shipping and handling time settings
  • Settlement cycle and reconciliation

Operating habits

Marketplace performance is judged on how you operate, not just what you list.

  • Order handling within the stated window
  • Stock accuracy to avoid cancellations
  • Return and refund handling
  • Response time to customer messages

Beyond Noon

Selling on a marketplace does not remove the need for your own presence.

  • Maroof verification for trust
  • Your own site or store for repeat customers
  • Advertising within the platform where it earns its cost
  • Product content reusable across channels

Questions

Noon seller account FAQs.

Can I sell on Noon as an individual?

Noon is structured around registered businesses. Both individuals and small businesses can sell, but the requirement is a valid trade licence and registered legal entity for the country in which you are opening the store. If you do not yet have a Commercial Registration, that is the step to sort first — and we will tell you that plainly rather than taking a fee for an application that cannot succeed.

How long does approval take?

Document verification typically takes a few business days, and up to about a week if anything needs to be clarified. The required onboarding training also has to be completed before the account is fully active. The main variable is document accuracy — a licence with a name mismatch can add a full review cycle.

Is there a registration fee?

Noon does not charge an upfront registration fee. It earns a commission on each sale, and that commission varies by product category. Because categories and rates are updated periodically, we check the current schedule for your products rather than quoting from an old figure.

What is the difference between Noon B2B and FBN?

B2B — sometimes described as self-fulfilment — means you hold the stock and ship orders yourself. FBN means Noon stores, packs and delivers your products, and your listings can then offer faster delivery promises. FBN usually wins on conversion and loses on flexibility; self-fulfilment is better for slow-moving, large or fragile items. Many established sellers run both.

Can I sell in the UAE as well as Saudi Arabia?

Noon operates in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt on the same platform infrastructure, which is convenient — but each store is created per country with its own legal entity and currency settings. Currency in particular cannot be changed later, so it is worth planning the structure before you start.

Do I need a specific licence for my product category?

Some categories require additional approvals — health, beauty, food, medical devices and anything regulated. Cosmetics and health products commonly need proof of purchase, distributor authorisation or a manufacturer's certificate. Counterfeit and illegal goods are prohibited outright. We check your category before we submit anything.

Can you manage the store after it launches?

Yes, as a separate scope covering listing content, catalogue structure, pricing and promotion, and platform advertising. Some clients take onboarding and then run it themselves after a handover session — that is a perfectly good outcome, and we document the setup so they can.

Selling on Noon and Amazon.sa both?

The document sets overlap but the rules differ. Preparing both in one pass is usually faster and cheaper than two separate attempts.
